Sweat AI vs Bretton AI (formerly Greenlite)

Sweat AI · Updated

Sweat AI is an AI-native BPO for banks and fintechs, starting with back-office workflows like KYB, onboarding and fraud reviews. Bretton AI, which was called Greenlite AI until February 2026, sells an agentic platform and, since July 2026, an AI-native managed service for AML operations. Both combine AI with human experts, so the comparison comes up. This page describes Bretton only in its own published words, read on September 30, 2026.

Greenlite is now Bretton

Bretton's Series B post, dated February 10, 2026, says: "we have raised a $75M Series B funding round and are updating our name from Greenlite AI to Bretton AI." The old greenlite.ai domain now redirects to Bretton's site. If you evaluated Greenlite before 2026, you are looking at the same company.

What Bretton says its managed service is

Bretton announced the service on July 8, 2026. The launch post says: "Hand us your managed service contract, and we transform it into an AI-native program. Priced on outcomes rather than headcount." It adds that "AI supports a majority of your operations with a human-in-the-loop throughout." It ties the launch to the reform FinCEN proposed with the FDIC, OCC and NCUA on April 7, 2026, which the post describes as "still a proposed rule."

The managed services page sets out the offer in four claims: "Half the price per case," "Onshore experts in the loop," "100% quality control" and "Live in 60 days." It contrasts itself with a "typical BPO experience" of "6–8 weeks of recruiting and training," "5–15% of cases sampled" and turnover. It introduces its team by name, including a Head of Services with "25 years of experience," a quality control manager and pod leads who each manage "a team of roughly ten analysts."

In a September 7, 2026 post titled "The era of BPOs is over," Bretton argues that "a BPO contract is valued by: headcount x rate" and says its contracts "come in at 40 to 60 percent below the incumbent." These are Bretton's statements. We have not tested them.

What Sweat AI does

Sweat AI works the business onboarding queue: KYB applications, enhanced due diligence on businesses and counterparties, and fraud reviews. For each case your team receives:

  • findings, each with a source excerpt and a capture time;
  • what each applicant document proves, and what it does not;
  • one consolidated list of what is still needed from the applicant, and why;
  • a recommendation. The decision is yours.

We work nights, weekends and holidays so the queue is done when your team logs in. The team comes from Stripe, J.P. Morgan and Jefferies, and Sweat AI is backed by Alliance. See the format in our sample KYB review.

Where they differ

The queue. Bretton's managed services page is about AML: alerts, investigations and SAR-related work at regulated institutions, with its platform covering broader back-office workflows. Sweat AI starts earlier in the customer lifecycle, at the business onboarding application, and stays focused there and on fraud review.

The buying moment. Bretton's offer is written for a team that already outsources: "Send us your current contract." Sweat AI also fits teams that have never outsourced and simply cannot cover nights and weekends with their own analysts.

Proof. Bretton publishes case studies with figures, customer testimonials and a price claim. Sweat AI publishes no performance, price or customer claims. We show the deliverable and ask you to test it on your own cases.

Scale of organization. Bretton describes a named services leadership team, pods of roughly ten analysts and $75M raised. If you need a provider that can already point to that structure, weigh it.

Choose Bretton if…

  • Your largest cost is an existing AML BPO contract and you want it replaced on a stated timeline.
  • The work is AML alert review, investigations and SAR-related work at a bank regulated by the OCC, FDIC or Federal Reserve.
  • You want onshore, named investigators and every case scored against your QC scorecard, as Bretton describes.
  • You also want a platform your own team can use for other back-office workflows.

Choose Sweat AI if…

  • Your backlog is KYB and business onboarding: new business accounts, merchants, counterparties.
  • Applications land overnight and at weekends, and you want them reviewed before your team starts work.
  • You want every case returned as a review your analyst can verify, with a source for each finding and one list of what is still missing.
  • You want your team to keep the final decision on each application.

Questions to ask either provider

  1. Which queues do you run today for a company like mine, and can I see a redacted output?
  2. Who reviews my cases, where are they based, and what are their qualifications?
  3. What exactly counts as a "case" for pricing, and what happens when a case needs more information?
  4. Which dispositions can your people or agents make without my sign-off?

If your KYB and onboarding queue grows every weekend, tell us about it. We will say plainly whether Sweat AI or a provider like Bretton is the better fit.
