Sweat AI is an AI-native BPO for banks and fintechs, starting with back-office workflows like KYB, onboarding and fraud reviews. Sphinx sells AI compliance analysts as software and, since June 2026, a managed service called Frontline. Frontline and Sweat AI both combine human analysts with AI, so buyers reasonably ask how they differ. This page answers from each company's own public pages, read on September 30, 2026.

What Sphinx says Frontline is
Sphinx launched Frontline on June 25, 2026, with a post titled "Introducing Sphinx Frontline: The First AI-Native BPO For FinCrime." The post says Frontline "embeds Sphinx compliance analysts directly into the bank's workflow" and that "our analysts handle the judgment calls while Sphinx AI agents take care of the repetitive work."
The Frontline product page describes three parts:
- Embedded analysts. "BSA/AML professionals operating inside your stack. Not engineers. Not consultants. Real compliance analysts running your alerts, working your cases, drafting your SARs, and clearing your backlog."
- AI agents for the busy work. "Evidence gathering. Narrative drafting. Pattern recognition. Triage."
- Learning over time. "Analysts and agents learn from each other. SOPs update themselves."
The page positions Frontline against every alternative at once: "You've tried hiring. You've tried software. You've tried legacy BPOs." It states "Go live in 2 weeks," describes the queue worked "24/7," and prices on outcomes: "Frontline gets paid when cases get closed." It says it is "Trusted by OCC, FDIC, and Federal Reserve-Regulated banks" and lists SOC 2 Type II and GDPR.
Sphinx's headline on the Frontline page is "Clear thousands of cases in days, file SARs in under 10 minutes, and cut case review time by 80%." Those are Sphinx's figures. We have not tested them.
What Sweat AI does
Sweat AI works the business onboarding queue: KYB applications, enhanced due diligence on businesses and counterparties, and fraud reviews. Our analysts use AI to gather evidence, then read and judge each case. For every case you get back:
- the findings, each with a source excerpt and the time it was captured;
- what each document the applicant supplied proves, and what it does not;
- one consolidated list of what is still needed from the applicant, with the reason each item is needed;
- a recommendation. Your team makes the decision.
We work nights, weekends and holidays so the queue is done when your team logs in. The team comes from Stripe, J.P. Morgan and Jefferies, and Sweat AI is backed by Alliance. You can see the format in our sample KYB review.
Where they differ
Center of gravity. Frontline's page is built around AML operations at banks: alerts, cases, SARs and backlogs worked by "BSA/AML professionals." KYB appears in its use-case list. Sweat AI starts from the onboarding application: is this business what it says it is, who owns and controls it, does its business model match what it applied for, and what is still missing.
Where the work happens. Sphinx's analysts "log into your CMS" and work inside your tools. Sweat AI returns a prepared review per case that your analyst can check. Which is better depends on your setup. If you want a provider working directly in your case management system under your SOPs, Sphinx describes exactly that.
What proves the work. Sphinx publishes metrics and named customer quotes. Sweat AI publishes no performance figures. We show the deliverable instead and ask you to test us on your own cases.
Decision authority. Sphinx's post says its analysts "handle the judgment calls." At Sweat AI, the final decision on an application is yours. We prepare the review and the recommendation. Ask any provider to state in the contract which dispositions it may take without your sign-off.
Choose Sphinx Frontline if…
- Your main backlog is AML transaction-monitoring alerts, sanctions or screening alerts, or SAR drafting at a regulated bank.
- You want analysts working inside your existing case management system and following your SOPs there.
- You want a provider that publishes a SOC 2 Type II certification and outcome-based pricing on its site today.
- You also want to buy AI analyst software from the same vendor for your own team.
Choose Sweat AI if…
- Your backlog is business onboarding: KYB applications, merchant or business account reviews, counterparty due diligence.
- Applications arrive overnight and at weekends, and you want them reviewed before your team starts the day.
- You want each case returned as a review your own analyst can verify quickly, with a source for every finding and one list of what is still missing.
- You want your team to keep the final decision on every application.
Questions to ask either provider
- Show me a real, redacted case output. What does my analyst actually receive?
- Which decisions do your people or agents take without my sign-off?
- Where are your analysts located, and what are their qualifications?
- How is quality measured, and do I see the results per case or as a sample?
- What do you need from my systems, and what data leaves my environment?
If KYB and onboarding is the queue that keeps growing, send us a description of it. We will tell you whether Sweat AI is the right fit, or whether a provider like Sphinx suits it better.
Questions
What is Sphinx Frontline?
Sphinx describes Frontline as an "AI-Native BPO for FinCrime": Sphinx compliance analysts who log into a customer's case management system, follow its SOPs and work its queues, with AI agents doing evidence gathering and narrative drafting. Sphinx also sells AI analyst software separately.
Is Sweat AI the same kind of company as Sphinx?
Both are AI-native BPOs that pair human analysts with AI. Sphinx's Frontline page leads with AML alerts, SAR filing and backlog clearance for regulated banks. Sweat AI focuses on KYB and business onboarding reviews, business due diligence and fraud queues, worked 24/7.
Does Sweat AI publish performance metrics like Sphinx does?
No. Sphinx publishes metrics and named customer quotes on its site. Sweat AI does not publish speed, accuracy or cost figures. We show how the work is done instead, through a sample review, and we suggest you test any provider on your own cases.
Who makes the final decision on a case?
With Sweat AI, your team does. Sweat prepares the review, the evidence and a recommendation, and regulated approvals stay with you. Ask any provider, Sphinx included, exactly which decisions its analysts or agents take on your behalf.
Can I run both?
Yes. A team could use Sphinx for AML alert and SAR work and Sweat AI for its KYB and onboarding exception queue. They cover different queues, so overlap is limited.
